We modeled it after the English school boy book bag. The handle is attached to the bar and the full straps and buckles secure even the most unwieldy contents.     I have thoroughly enjoyed the bag over the past few months of use, and look forward to many more years with it. If I had one concern, it would be about the strength of the top strap, to which the handle attaches - this has begun to show some streching despite generally having a light to medium load in the bag. If I could suggest one improvement, I would encourage you to find a less yellow brass to use for your hardware (Equus Leather in Britain uses a much paler, but incredibly good quality, brass in their belts, etc.). Please don't take either of those comments as complaints, as I truly love my purchase and have heartily recommended Lotuff Leather to my friends and colleagues. I will be sure to look to you again as soon as I have occaision to purchase other leather goods

    I will traveling and working in the middle east and anticipate a lot of 'briefcase envy' among the locals and expats. It's good to know such things are not only made in America but right here in MA. Your customer service was very responsive and accommodating.     This briefcase is fantastic - the leather is beautiful, it's very sturdy, and the custom pocket inside is really perfect for me. I love that it's an outstanding but it's understated. Fits me great, all around. What more can I say?
